Abstract:
PURPOSE:To ensure the sweepout of an undesired charge of a solid-state image pickup element till the start of exposure by applying a prescribed voltage to a sweepout operation control section prior to the start of exposure and generating a timing signal for the sweepout. CONSTITUTION:When a shutter button 5 is depressed lightly, a sweepout control pulse from a system control circuit 4 goes to a high level and a phiI decoder 28, a phiSG decoder 29 and a phiS decoder 30 generate a pulse to drive a solid-state image pickup element 1. Thus, the charge (undesired charge) generated in the solid-state image pickup element 1 is swept out. When the shutter button 5 is depressed deep, the sweepout control pulse goes down and the sweepout is stopped. A high speed phi<11> transfer pulse is generated from the phiI system decoder 28 is generated to sweep out the undesired charge of the solid-state image pickup element 1. Thus, the sweepout of the undesired charge of the solid-state image pickup element till the start of exposure is ensured.
