PURPOSE: To provide a sliding surface constituting body which consists of a film having six-ridge Fe crystals which are made fine and uniform and having excellent sliding characteristics.
CONSTITUTION: The current of a power source for plating is controlled to draw pulse waveforms in such a manner that,this current rises from the min. value, attains the max. value and falls clown to the min. value at the time of forming the sliding surface constituting body 4 having the many hexagonal pyramid- shaped six-ridge Fe crystals 71 on the sliding surface 4a by an electroplating method. The ratio TON/TC of the energization time TON and the cycle time TC is set at TON/TC ≤0.45 when the energization time from the start of rising of the current before the start of the falling is defined as TON and the cycle time thereof as TC with the time from the previous start of the rising to the next start of the rising as one cycle. As a result, the sliding surface 4a is formed of the aggregate of the six-ridge Fe crystals 7, and the oil retaining property thereof is improved.
