PURPOSE: To provide a wire-twisting machine capable of simply setting a twisting pitch and also capable of precisely holding the once set pitch value.

CONSTITUTION: A wire-twisting machine has a rotation frame 15, variable speed motor 9 and controller 7. Rotation frame 15 is equipped with a take-up capstan 4 for taking up a wire 3 at a desired taking speed V and with a winding bobbin 5 for winding up the wire 3. Variable speed motor 9 is attached in the rotation frame and used for rotating the take-up capstan 4, and a controller 7 is equipped outside the rotation frame 15, and receives a set desired value from a pitch- setting device 6 for setting the ratio of the rotation number N of the rotation frame 15 to a taking speed V in the desired value. The rotation number of the variable speed motor 9 is once taken out as a digital value with an A/D converter such as an encoder, allowed to pass through a slipring 8, returned to a voltage value with a suitable D/A converter 11, and then inputted into the controller 7. The rotation speed of the variable speed motor 9 is subjected to a feed-back control so that the inputted value coincides with a set voltage value preliminarily inputted into the controller 7.
