Abstract:
To operate an RF antenna of a nuclear spin tomograph which is connected to an unbalanced line and in which a sheath wave barrier is provided between the RF antenna and the line, the inductance L of the sheath wave barrier is designed, according to the invention, as a toroid (2). In this embodiment, a low-leakage sheath wave barrier is obtained which is particularly suitable for circularly polarised resonators. It suppresses difference currents caused by imbalances and consequently acts as a balun at the same time.
