Abstract:
The tensioner has convex-faced washers (10) pressed together, passing the thread, with a central opening (44) through which bearing pins (20) pass and upon which the washers rotate. A U-shaped holder (19) has limbs (21) either side of the tensioner, which carry the bearing sections. An Independent claim is included for the yarn supply unit, including the tension controller and supply drum. Preferred features: The holder is a bent piece of wire including formed bearing eyes. It has two parallel sections with adjustable projection from its mounting (14). One end of the holder is oscillated under spring loading, coupled into the holder. One of the limbs is bent or offset. The bearing is detachable from the holder and adjustable on it. The bearing section is approximately U-shaped. Its frame is clipped onto the holder. It can be held fixed in a working position, or folded-back. A region on the frame (40) supports the tensioner. The frame is detachably clamped to the holder and has divided construction. Further structural details include the plastic bearing section, earthing and thread guidance.
