Abstract:

An aqueous, chlorinated polyolefin-based resin composition which has an acid value of 1 - 500 mg KOH/g and which is obtained by chlorination in the range of 5 -50 wt.% of one or more kinds of polymers selected from polyolefins modified with the following compounds (A), (B), and (C): (A) alpha , beta -unsaturated carboxylic acids represented by any of the formulae I, II, and III below wherein each of R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 is independently selected from H, -CH3, -C2H5, -C3H7, -C4H9, -C5H11, -C6H13, -C7H15, -C8H17, -C9H19, -C10H21 and -COOH. (B) and/or acid anhydrides of alpha , beta -unsaturated carboxylic acids of (A), represented by either of the formulae IV and V below in which R1 and R2 are each independently selected from H, -CH3, -C2H5, -C3H7, -C4H9, -C5H10, -C6H13, -C7H15, -C8H17, -C9H19, -C10H21. in which R1, which is connected to the ring carbon atom by an ethylenic double bond, is selected from -CH2, -C2H4, -C3H6, -C4H8, -C5H10, -C6H12, -C7H14, -C8H16, -C9H18, -C10H20, -CHCOOH, -C(CH3)COOH, -C(C2H5)COOH, -C(C3H7)COOH and -C(C4H9)COOH; and R2 is selected from H,-CH3, -C2H5, -C3H7, -C4H9, -C5H11, -C6H13, -C7H15, -C8H17, -C9H19, -C10H21. (C) and/or compounds having one or more double bonds in a molecule, represented by either of the formulae VI or VII below CH2=C(R1)COOR2 in which R1 is H or -CH3 and R2 is selected from H, CH3, -C2H5, -C3H7, -C4H9, -C5H10, -C6H13, -C7H15, -C8H17, -C9H19, -C10H21, -C11H23, -C12H25, -C13H27, -C14H29, -C15H31, -C16H33, -C17H35, -C18H37, -C19H39, -C20H41. -C2H4OH, -C3H6OH, -C4H9OH, -C5H10OH, -C6H12OH, -C7H14OH, -CH2CH2N(CH3)2, -CH2CH2N(CH2CH3)2, -CH2CH2OCOCH2CH2COOH, -CH2CH2OCOC(CH3)=CH2, -(CH2CH2O)2COC(CH3)=CH2, -C4H8OCOC(CH3)=CH2, -C6H12OCOC(CH3)=CH2, -CH2C(CH2=C(R1)COOCH2)2CH2CH3, -CH2CH(OH)CH2OCOC(CH3)=CH2, (CH2CH2O) COC(CH3)=CH2 ; 1≤ x ≤20 in which each of R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 is independently selected from H, -CH3, -C2H5, -C3H7, -C4H9, -C5H11, -C6H13, -C7H15, -C8H17, -C9H19, -C10H21 has use as an adhesive, in inks and as coating materials for polyolefin base materials.
