Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve adhesion of the composition to polyolefin substrate by impregnating a polymer derived from polymerizable monomer containing 7,7- dimethyl norbornanyl group.

CONSTITUTION: The objective composition is prepared by the aqueous emulsion polymerization of 5-100 wt.% of a polymerizable monomer which contains an amount of 5-80 wt.% and more of an olefinic unsaturated monomer having an optionally substituted 7,7-dimethyl norbornanyl group of the formula (R1 is H or ≤8C lower alkyl; X is -O- or -NH-; T is an optionally substituted 7,7- dimethyl norbornanyl) with 95-0 wt.% of a monomer having no 7,7-dimethyl norbornanyl group, in the presence of a free radical initiator at 40-120°C.
