PURPOSE: To connect multiple optical fiber with a simple one part and to enable miniaturization by fixing optical fiber groups respectively with their ends exposed to optical connecting parts in which at least one group are formed as fine hole shapes, then subjecting the coupling end faces of the optical fibers of the respective groups to polishing.
CONSTITUTION: The optical connecting part (ferrule) 2' has guide holes 4, 4' for insertion of guide pins, fine holes 5 for positioning optical fibers, optical fiber positioning grooves 6, an exposed part (hole part) 7 for injecting an adhesive and a cap part 8 for pressing the inserted optical fibers from above and has a difference in level 9 helpful for preventing bending of the optical fibers. The ≥2 coupling end faces of such ferrule 2' to be coupled to the optical connector have ≥2 groups of respectively ≥2 pieces of a group of the optical fiber positioning grooves 6, at least one group among which are formed into the fine hole shapes. The optical fiber groups respectively exposed with their ends are fixed into the ferrule 2' and thereafter, the coupling end faces of the optical fibers of the respective groups are polished.
