PURPOSE: To accurately move the moving body along a predetermined movement path.
CONSTITUTION: The steering controller for the moving body which has a means for storing data regarding the predetermined movement path of the moving body and steers the moving body so that the quantity of deviation of the moving body from the movement path becomes zero is provided with the couple of front and rear reflecting bodies for reflecting light in a light incidence direction at one or plural specific positions on the movement path and the moving body, on the other hand, is provided with a couple of reflection type photoelectric detectors SA and SB which has their center axes crossed at a specific angle. Further, the device is equipped with calculating means 15 and 8 which calculate values regarding the position and attitude angle of the moving body based on the outputs of both of the reflection type photoelectric detectors SA and SB when the moving body passes nearby the light reflecting bodies and a correcting means 8 which corrects the current position and attitude angle based on the calculated values regarding the position and attitude angles of the moving body.
