Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fix a lock firmly and assemble furniture with ease by exposing a key hole on the front surface of a top board and fixing fittingly the lock with the rear surface of the top board and clamping and fixing the top board between the top board and a top board support when the top board is mounted. SOLUTION: The upper part of a cylinder 9 of a lock 5 is positioned in a recessed area on the rear surface of a top board 1 while the lock 5 is fixed with the top board 1 in such a state that the surface of the cylinder head 8 is projected from the opening of the top board 1. A lock lever 6 is positioned downward and unlocked. When the head of a locking pin 24 of the top board 1 is dropped into an insertion and removal hole, which is a stopper hole provided on the upper board of the top board support body 4 from above in this unlocked state, and the top board 1 is arranged to move backward slidingly, the head of the locking pin 24 will be positioned in the locking hole while it may be inserted and held in a holding member formed with a clamping piece 35 of the lock lever 6, which positions downward a cam shaft 10 of the lock 5 and a regulation piece 34, thereby clamping and fixing the lock 5 between the recessed area of the top board 1 and the upper board of the top board support 4.
