PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new compound which has an effective hemorheological function capable of improving circulation, particularly microcirculation, while showing no influence on blood pressure, and is useful as a medicament for treating ischemic diseases.
CONSTITUTION: 2,6-Dimethyl-1-n-propyl-4-(4-trifluoromethylphenyl)-1,4- dihydropyridine-3,5-methyl dicarboxylate shown by formula I, which is obtained either by allowing 2-(4-trifluoromehylbenzylidene)aceto-methyl acetate to react in an inert solvent, optionally in the presence of a base/acid, directly with methyl 3-n-propylamino-methyl-crotonate, or with aceto methyl acetate and an n- propylamine salt, or by subjecting 4-trifluoromethylbenzaldehyde shown by formula III to a reaction in pyridine with aceto methyl acetate and with n- propylamine hydrochloric acid salt, respectively.
