Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a microporous body which consists of silicate and/or high dispersion oxide of an aluminum element as a base and has thermal insulation property.

CONSTITUTION: The microporous body is obtd. by the following stages: (a) I) 0.5 to 60 wt.% one or more comps. selected from the group consisting of the oxide, hydroxide and carbonate of second main group metals, II) 5 to 95 wt.% high heat produced SiO2 contg. Al2O3 at a ratio of 0 to 20 wt.% (by the used SiO2), III) 0 to 60 wt.% opacifying agent having at least one absorption max. in a wavelength range of a wavelength band of 1.5 to 10 μm, IV) 0.1 to 10 wt.% org. fibers are mixed and (b) the produced mixture is compressed to form a shaped article and (c) the shaped article is heated at ≥700°C.
