PURPOSE: To obtain good resolution and to prevent irregular density by exposing an image forming material having a photosensitive layer comprising a photosensitive compsn. containing a specified polyester on a supporting body with active rays and then transferring the unexposed part to an image receiving body to form an image.
CONSTITUTION: An image forming material containing a polyester comprising a dicarboxylic acid unit expressed by formula I, glycol unit expressed by formula II and glycol unit expressed by formula III on a supporting body is exposed to active rays for an image, the unexposed part of the photosensitive compsn. layer is transferred to an image receiving body to form an image. In formula 1, (m) is 0 or 1. When m=0, (b) and (n) are 0 or 1 and at least one of (b) and (n) is 1. When m=1, (b) and (n) are 0. (P) is 2 or 3. In formula II, R is a 2-4C alkylene group and (r) is 2, 3 or 4. In formula III, R1, R2 are hydrogen atoms or 1-6C alkyl groups and R3 is a hydrogenated benzene ring.
