Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the deodorizing compsn. having excellent performance to remove nitrogenous smells and sulfur-containing smells and mechanical strength.

CONSTITUTION: This deodorizing compsn. consists essentially of hydrous magnesium silicate clay ore and an activated carbon. The content of the activated carbon in the deodorizing compsn. is 10 to<40wt.% of the total weight of the hydrous magnesium silicate clay ore and the activated carbon. Further, the content is preferably 20 to 35wt.%. The clay ore consists of fibers of a diameter of about 0.005 to 0.6μm and has pores of a rectangular section of about 6 to 10 in a fiber direction. Sepiolite, palygorskite, etc., are used as the clay ore. Coal, coke, pitch, coconut shells, etc., which are activated, are used as the activated carbon.
