PURPOSE: To provide a motor for precision rotation which fits application in clean environment, such as a polygon mirror motor or a magnetic disk drive motor, and besides, can cope with the posture to be mounted on a device, and is effective for sizing down a motor, and also can compensate for a high precision rotation up to the region of a high speed rotation.
CONSTITUTION: Ring permanent magnets 7a, 7b are oppositely arranged on a coaxial line with clearance in a rotor 2 and a stator to constitute a magnetic bearing having an ability of supporting a load in the axial and radial directions, and also the outer circumferential surface of the ring permanent magnets 7a, 7b arranged in the rotor 2 is covered with a part of the rotor 2, and the magnetic bearing is arranged between a rotating load such as a polygon mirror 3 and a magnetic fluid lubricant bearing.
