Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an optical fiber structure capable of sufficiently suppressing the acceleration degradation amount of optical fibers to humidity.
CONSTITUTION: The optical fiber 10 is covered with polymer jackets 20 and 30 and at least a part of a jacket material contains an at least partially water soluble particulate material for forming a solution for lowering the reaction to pure water of the optical fiber. By the particulate material inside the jackets, in a standard degradation test, an effect of sufficiently suppressing the acceleration degradation amount of the optical fiber is present and the at least double improvement effect to the similar fiber covered with the jackets not provided with the particulate material is present.
