Abstract:
Near-azeotropic blends of hydrofluorocarbons are disclosed which have utility as replacements for refrigerant 502. They are blends of pentafluoroethane (HFC-125) and 1,1,1-trifluoroethane (HFC-143a) with 1,1,1,2,3,3,3-heptafluoropropane (HFC-2227ea) or 1,1,1,2,2,3,3-heptafluoropropane (HFC-227ca) in the proportions of 35 to 65 weight percent of HFC-125, 30 to 60 weight percent of HFC-143a and 3 to 15 weight percent of HFC-227ea or HFC-227ca.
