Abstract:
The apparatus has two conveyor belts (1, 2), the upper strands (3, 4) of which run in the conveying direction (5). The transfer point (11) between the belts (1, 2) is formed by two deflection sheaves (9, 10) which are supported on a reciprocating carriage (8). The carriage (8) is moved by an endless toothed belt (44). A second carriage (32) is fixed on the lower strand (43) of the belt (44). This carries two further deflection sheaves (30, 31) of the belts (1, 2). A crown wheel (39) embraced by the belt (44) is driven by a servo motor (40). A sensor (50) senses the rear edge (51) of items (52) delivered on the feed belt (1). The signal from the sensor (50) controls an automatic controller (54) for the servo motor (40). The toothed belt (44) has supporting elements (45) which support the belts (1, 2). This construction makes it possible to rapidly form a line of regularly spaced articles from a line of articles (52) delivered at irregular intervals.
