PURPOSE: To obtain an olefin (co)polymer having a high bulk density, a small content of fine particles and a narrow particle size distribution at a high catalytic activity by using a catalyst system wherein a specific solid catalyst component is used in combination with a specific silicon-contg. compd. and an organometallic compd.
CONSTITUTION: A catalyst system is obtd. by ombining [I] a solid catalyst component prepared by reacting a reactional product (1) of Si oxide and/or Al oxide with a Ti-contg. compd. or a Ti-contg. compd. and a V-contg. compd. with a mutual reactional product (2) of (a) an Mg halide, (b) a compd. of the following formula: Me(OR1)nXz-n (where-in Me is an element of Group I to IV of the Periodic Table; (z) is the valence of Me; 0<n≤z; X is a halogen atom; and R1 is a 1-20C hydrocarbon group), and (c) a Ti-contg. compd. or a Ti-contg. compd. and a V-contg. compd. and reacting catalytically the reactional product with an organoaluminum compd. (3), [II] a silicon-contg. compd. having at least one Si-N-C bond, and [III] an organometallic compd.
