Abstract:
The device for screwing and unscrewing studs (3) of large dimensions, especially for fixing a closure head (1) of a vessel (2) provided with installed internal threads, comprises especially a system (13) for compensating the weight of the stud which is controlled, in terms of force, by means of an oil-hydraulic component by electro-hydraulic servo-control on the basis of an accurate measurement of the hydraulic pressure detected by the oil-hydraulic component or the compensating force to be exerted by the said oil- hydraulic component in order to limit the pressure contacting the said stud in the said internal thread and which drives axially, over a sufficient travel, a mechanism for rotatably driving the stud and a component for gripping the said stud.
