PURPOSE: To reduce the work for the determination of various kinds of set values and the input work as far as possible by so controlling as to keep the distance between platens in a constant value during the filling process.
CONSTITUTION: A pressure control valve 42 is controlled in compliance with the distance L between platens sensed by a distance sensor 28 so that the initial distance between platens can be retained as a target value by a microprocessing unit 43 when the filling is started, based on which the mold clamping force P is varied. Thus the filling is carried out by varying the mold clamping force P while the initial distance between platens is kept. As a minimum mold clamping force required for closing a mold is applied to the mold by the arrangement, gas generated by resin and air remaining in the mold can bee exhausted easily. Since the initial distance between platens is set as a target value, parting faces of a fixed mold and a movable mold do not open from each other, even when the filling pressure of resin is applied to eliminate the generation of flashes.
