Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the filter which has filter function and can remove pollutants, such as org. pollutants, soluble odorous materials, algae and ammonia nitrogen, contained in raw water by a biotreatment. CONSTITUTION:The filter mounted to the intake pipe of the water intake facilities consists of plural layers of open cellular bodies 1A, 1B, 1C having the open cells suitable for living of microorganisms for filtration and biotreatment. The voids of the open cellular bodies 1A and 1C among these open cellular bodies are maintained within a range from 30 to 65% and the voids of the open cellular body 1B for the biotreatment are maintained within a range from 15 to 40%.
