Improved process for producing perfluoropolyethers predominantly composed of units of formulae -CF2CF2O-and and terminal perfluoroalkyl groups, with a ratio of the above C3/C2 units within the range of from 0.2 to 6, showing a good combination of chemical and physical properties, comprising the photo-oxidation of C3F6 and C2F4 under controlled conditions.
