PURPOSE: To prevent sound quality from deteriorating, etc., by correcting errors of reproduced data which are not corrected by error correcting processing.

CONSTITUTION: The device is equipped with means 7, 8a and 8b for reproducing and correcting compressed information of an optical disk in each prescribed block, a memory control means 9 for storing reproduced data in each block into a memory 11 and means 13 and 14 for reading out the reproduced data of the memory 11 in each block and expanding and outputting the data. The existence of error correction unable data is checked in each block by the memory control means 9, and each information in its correction unable block is reproduced again from the optical disk prescribed times, and then each data reproduced again is stored in the memory 11 corresponding to this correction unable block. From this memory, new correct reproduced data is produced, and this new reproduced data replaces the reproduced data of the correction unable block, and is sent to an expander means 13.
