PURPOSE: To provide a jig for separating and positioning wire ropes which is capable of ensuring that a plurality of wires ropes for hoisting and supporting a heavy object are prevented from crossing one another.

CONSTITUTION: A jig 10 for separating and positioning is disposed in a position along the longitudinal direction of a plurality of wire ropes 3 for hoisting and supporting a heavy object 1, and has through holes 12 formed in separate positions on a plane, each of which allows one wire rope 3 to pass therethrough.
