CONSTITUTION: A head unit 4 is so supported that it can be moved in the diametral direction of an optical disk by four guide rails 30a to 30d arranged around the centroid position of the head unit 4. Since guide rails 30a to 30d are arranged at intervals narrower than the width of the head unit 4, secondary resonance probably brought about at the time of moving the head unit 4 at a high speed is practically suppressed. Consequently, the optical head device capable of high-speed access is obtained.
