PURPOSE: To attain the heat insulation at a plurality kinds of heat insulating temperatures by providing an electric hot water storage container with a heat insulating temperature selecting means for arbitrarily selecting and setting any one of the plurality kinds of heat insulating temperatures and automatically setting a heat insulating temperature setting value to a minimum heat insulating temperature.

CONSTITUTION: The electric hot water storage container capable of heat insulation has a water boiling heater 6A for heating water in the main hot water storage container 1 and controls to turn on the heater 6A based on the output of a temperature sensor 38 for detecting the temperature of the water in an inner container 4. In this case, a heat insulating temperature selecting and setting switch is installed on an operation panel 12 for arbitrarily selecting and setting any heat insulating temperature of a plurality kinds of predetermined heat insulating temperatures ranging from a low temperature to a high temperature whose temperature values are different from one another. The water boiled and heated in the inner container 4 is controlled so that it is maintained at a heat insulating temperature selected and set by the heat insulating temperature selecting and setting switch. At the time of beginning to turning on the heater, the heat insulating temperature set value of the heat insulating temperature selecting and setting switch can be automatically set to a minimum heat insulating temperature.
