Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a friction material having stable friction characteristics while improving the driability and so productivity and the safety and working environment in the production.

CONSTITUTION: The title production process comprises coating a fibrous material as the base material with a mixture prepared by dispersing a friction modifier in an aqueous solution containing a binder, a dispersant, a thickener, a flexibilizer and a surfactant, fixing the applied mixture with an aqueous boric acid solution and molding the resulting mixture.
