Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To erase an image formed using an image forming material at a high erasing rate independently of the constitutes of the material and to obtain a good erased state by bringing a solvent contg. a dissolved erasing agent into contact with the image forming material contg. a color developing compd. and a developer. SOLUTION: The color developing compd. is a precursor compd. of a dye forming a color image such as letters or a figure. The developer is a compd. that allows the color developing compd. to form a color by interaction with the color developing compd. The erasing agent is a compd. exhibiting preferential compatibility with one of the color developing compd. and the developer, and the erasing agent is dissolved in erasing solvent and used. The phase separated state of the phase of the color developing compd. and the developer and the phase of the erasing agent is close to a parallel state at a room temp. and the color developing compd. and the developer are in a color forming state by interaction with each other. The developer dissolves preferentially in the dissolved erasing agent on heating to the m.p. or above and the interaction with the color developing compd. is lost to erase the color.
