Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an electrode for an alkaline secondary battery, excellent in high speed electric charging/discharging performance and having a large capacity.
CONSTITUTION: An active material is filled into a metal porous member having three-dimensional net-like structures communicated with each other and the pore number per 1cm3 of 10,000-21,000. A hydrogen storage alloy as an active material is filled into a negative electrode. Nickel hydroxide as an active material is filled into a positive electrode. The metal porous member is formed of nickel or a nickel alloy. A slurry obtained by suspending metal powder in a foamable resin is applied and impregnated, followed by baking, thus forming the metal porous member.
