PURPOSE: To provide the method and device for noise adaptive control which quickly adapt or converge the overall noise energy, which many detectors set in preliminarly determined places receive, to the optimum state that this energy is minimum.

CONSTITUTION: This system consists of a reference microphone 12 which generates a reference signal having a correlation with the noise emitted from a primary noise source 10, secondary noise source loudspeakers Sn which generate plural secondary acoustic waves, a error microphone en which detects plural long-distance area acoustic waves in the long-distance area of the primary noise source 10 and generates plural error signals which indicate outputs of corresponding long-distance area acoustic waves respectively, and an adaptive controller 14 which controls loudspeakers Sn in accordance with the reference signal and error signals so as to minimize the outputs of long-distance area acoustic waves.
