PURPOSE: To selectively adsorb a pyrogen only from a medicament liquid without concentration procedure by adsorbing the pyrogen using a container which consists of a pyrogen-bonding ligand covalent-bonded to a solid reactive functional group.
CONSTITUTION: Beads are prepared that has histidine as a ligand which bonds to a pyrogen, covalent-bonded to a solid reactive functional group-N-CH-(CH2)3- CH=N-. Next, the pyrogen in a medicament liquid containing the pyrogen is adsorbed using a column filled in with an equivalent of 100ml of pyrogen adsorption beads. Consequently, the pyrogen is quantitatively determined using 'Endospecy', a pyrogen testing reagent for quantitative determination regarding the medicament liquid before and after treatment using the beads. Thus the pyrogen adsorbing beads shows a satisfactory adsorptive performance of pyrogen, contributing to an improved recovery rate of medicament liquid.
