Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the catalyst for purifying the exhaust gas exhausted from an internal combustion engine at the area from lean to stoichiometric and whose high-temp. heat degradation is lessened and heat resistance is improved.

CONSTITUTION: The catalyst is provided with a coating layer consisting of the inorg. compd. whose essential component is the zeolite containing at least one metal selected from the group consisting of copper, cobalt and iron on a honeycomb carrier, and another coating layer consisting of the inorg. compd. whose essential component is the crystalline silicate containing iron, manganese, chromium or copper on the surface of the coating layer.
