NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R represents 1-5C alkyl; X represents halogen of 1-5C alkoxy; l is 0-3). EXAMPLE:2-Trimethylsilyl-1,4,5,8-dimethano-1,2,3,4,4a,5,8,8a-octahydro naphthalene. USE:A material for a substrate having extremely good adhesion to a metallic or insulating inorganic material and high glass transition temperature. PREPARATION:Bicyclo[2,2,1]hept-2-en-5-yl-silane expressed by formula II is synthesized by the Diels-Alder reaction of an alpha,beta-unsaturated trihalosilane with cyclopentadiene.
