PURPOSE: To provide an electroendosmosis dehydrator with high dehydrating function wherein the contained water and gas produced by electrolysis are discharged out of the system for the electrode face which touches the sludge while high electric conduction is kept between the electrode and the sludge.
CONSTITUTION: In an electroendosmosis dehydrator wherein d.c. voltage of an electric power source is applied between an electrode plate 8 (anode) of a rotary drum 1 and a press belt 2 (cathode) which face each other with a sludge passage between them and the water contained in the sludge supplied to the sludge passage is collected to the press belt side of the cathode by electroendosmosis function to discharge the water separately out of the system, regarding at least the electrode plate 8 in the anode side, the electrode plate is brought into direct contact with the sludge without being covered with a filter cloth and, at the same time, discharging holes 8a of the water bleeding out of the sludge and the gas produced by electrolysis are opened dispersedly in the electrode plate 8 and a filter material 9 is closely laid on the rear side of the electrode plate 8 in the way covering the discharging holes 8a.
