Abstract:
A nuclear magnetic resonance contrast composition which comprises a tetraazamacrocyclic compound - paramagnetic lanthanide complex having the formula: where x is 2, 3 or a combination of p 2(s) and q 3(s) where p + q = 4; R is (CH2)zP(=O)OR<1>OR<2>; R<1> is H or CH3; R<2> is CnH1+2n; z is 1 to 3; r is 2 or 3; M is a paramagnetic lanthanide; and n is 4 to 6. The nuclear magnetic resonance contrast compositions are particularly suitable for liver imaging in a subject.
