PURPOSE: To develop heat on a heat-resistant layer correspondingly to incident rays by means of a simple structure by separating supplied current based on the resistance value of an optical conducting layer and the resistance value of a heat-resistant layer varying in compliance with incident rays.
CONSTITUTION: When reflected rays from a manuscript is emitted to an optical conducting layer as incident rays through a transparent substrate 1 and a transparent upper electrode layer 2, incident rays corresponding to black sections of the manuscript are in the dark state and heat is not developed on a heat-resistant layer 5. On the other hand, incident rays corresponding to white sections of the manuscript are in the light state, and heat is not developed on the heat-resistant layer 5, and heat- sensitive recording corresponding to the incident rays from the manuscript is able to be made on a heat-sensitive paper 9. When rays are emitted to the optical conducting layer 3, current supplied from an alternating current power source 7 at a section connecting the optical conducting layer 3 with the heat-resistant layer 5 is separated based on the resistance value of the optical conducting layer 3 and the resistance value of the heat-resistant layer 5 varied in compliance with the incident rays to control the current flowing to the heat-resistant layer 5.
