PURPOSE: To insert a lightweight, oversized inside head to an end of a partially wrapped roll.

CONSTITUTION: An inside head is attached to multiple articulated arms 14 extending from a spider assembly 12. The spider is moved toward an end of a roll until the articulated arms engage the end of the roll. The spider assembly 12 opens the articulated arms radially outwardly until adjacent a wrapper tube extension 22. A heating clamp then welds an outer edge of the inside head to the wrapper tube extension 22.
