Abstract:
PURPOSE:To allow the quick and accurate veering and steering without generat ing human errors by detecting the position and cruising speed of a ship, performing the preset calculating based on the preset course, and operating a steering mechanism based on detector values of a turn angle detector and a turn angle speed detector. CONSTITUTION:The position of a ship is measured by a radar, laser instrument, etc., the cruising speed is detected by a speed detector 2, and the these values are inputted to an arithmetic unit 4. A person steering the ship sets points on the course on a chart or the like and inputs them via a curse setter 3. The veering timing, turn angle, and turn angle speed are calculated according to the basic equation of the veering movement. A steering controller 7 is operated based on detection values of a turn angle detector 5 and a turn angle speed detector 6 to drive a steering device 8. Accordingly, the preset steering can be performed by only setting and inputting the course, and the quick and accu rate veering and steering can be performed without generating human errors.
