To provide an IC card which has an excellent image quality, is excellent in preservable properties such as light resistance of a print image, plasticizer resistance and resin resistance and does not apply an adverse influence such as production of harmful gases upon environments when incinerated.
In the IC card and a light stability improving method for a thermal transfer image for the IC card, the IC card is composed of a card substrate internally equipped with an IC unit, a receiving layer provided on one surface of the card substrate with a thermal transfer image recorded thereon and a protecting layer laminated on the receiving layer through an adhesive agent layer, the card substrate is composed of a resin sheet whose one surface contains a polyester resin as a main component at least, and the receiving layer is provided on the resin sheet. Then, any unit original for a monomer comprising the resin forming the protecting layer does not contain chloride radicals, and the adhesive agent layer is a layer mainly made up of a normal temperature adhesive agent.
