PURPOSE: To attain the input of data given from an IC card itself and to prevent the foul use of the IC card by providing a keyboard to the card and limiting the use of a specific area of a memory only to the owner of the IC card with input of an identification number.
CONSTITUTION: A display device 2, a keyboard 4 and a communication contact 7 are connected to a microprocessor, i.e., a CPU10. Furthermore, a ROM11, a RAM12 and a timer 13 are connected to the CPU10. The ROM11 stores the working program of the CPU10. The RAM12 stores various data necessary for data processing of the CPU10 as well as the transaction data supplied from the keyboard 4. The timer 13 functions to erase the transaction data stored in the RAM12 after a fixed period of time. Both the RAM12 and the timer 13 are backed up by an internal power supply 14 different from a solar battery 3.
