The IC coin processor comprises an IC coin halt section 5 that is located outside an IC coin reserving unit 3 and is connected to an IC coin guide passage 2a and an IC coin discharge passage 4a, a discharge regulating means 6 switchable between an attitude for holding an IC coin 1 in the IC coin halt section 5 and a state of allowing the discharge to the IC coin discharge passage 4a, and an IC coin reader writer section 7, capable of reading and writing information to the IC coin 1 held in the IC coin halt section 5. The IC coin reader writer section 7 can read the information stored in the IC coin 1 from the IC coin 1, and can write the information in the IC coin 1.
