To provide an IC socket in which a transfer loss of energizing force of an elastic member for generating press-pushing force to a press-pushing member can be reduced and the press-pushing member can be displaced by a small operating force.
The IC socket 10 is provided with a housing 14 for housing an IC device in a detachable way, a plurality of contacts 16 with each of contact parts 16a arranged inside the housing in an elastically displaceable way, a press-pushing member 18 to press-push the housed IC device and push a plurality of leads of the IC device onto the corresponding contact parts 16a of the contacts 16, an elastic member 20 to elastically energize the press-pushing member 18 and have the press-pushing member 18 generate a press-pushing force for press-pushing the IC device, and an operating member 22 to displace the press-pushing member 18 by resisting the energizing force of the elastic member 20 and performing shifting operation against the housing 14. Between the elastic member 20 and the operating member 22, there is arranged a force transfer member 130 to reduce the energizing force of the elastic member 20 by action of levers and transfer it to the operating member 22.
