To provide an ice ball ejection apparatus which does not dissolve and destroy ice balls and can be manufactured and installed and can easily perform a hailfall test and a hailfall test method using this apparatus.
The ice ball ejection apparatus includes an ejection tube 2 having an ejection port 2a on its one end from which an ice ball 7 is ejected, an ice ball guide 5 which holds the ice ball 7 and is movable toward the ejection port 2a within the ejection tube 2, a pressurizing tank 3 filled with compressed gas to be fed to the inside of the ejection tube 2, and compressed gas feed timing determination means 4, 6 for determining the timing at which the compressed gas filling the pressurizing tank 3 is fed to the inside of the ejection tube 2, so that the ice ball guide 5 within the ejection tube 2 is guided to the ejection port 2a through the compressed gas fed from the pressurizing tank 3 by the compressed gas feed timing determination means 4, 6.
