Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To break ice in a water channel by a simple configuration.
SOLUTION: An ice breaker body 16 fixing an expansible membrane body 18 on a wall face 14 of a canal 10 by a fitting is provided in the vicinity of a gate. When an ice 36 is formed in the vicinity of a surface of water 34 in the canal 10, air from a compressor 32 is supplied to the expansible membrane body 18 to swell the expansible membrane body 18. The ice 36 is pressed by the swelling expansible membrane body 18 and is broken to make the gate open and close smoothly.
