To provide a titled device with which liquid-state cooling medium is prevented from being sucked into a compressor at the time of heating operation or the compressor is prevented from being overheated by providing an overheat degree detecting means and a controller for controlling the degree of overheat.
This ice cake producing device is provided with a heat pump type freezer equipped with a 1st heat exchanger 3 installed on a raw material tank A for ice cream materials, a 2nd heat exchanger 4 installed on a freezer barrel B, a hydrothermal exchanger 9, a compressor 1, a four-way valve 2, a 1st motor-driven expansion valve 5, a 2nd motor-driven expansion valve 6, a bypass circuit 15 and a hot gas circuit 16. The device is also provided with a means 14 for detecting the overheat degree of cooling medium gas to be sucked into the compressor 1 at the time of heating operation and a controller 20 for controlling this overhead degree with in a proper range by adjusting the aperture of the 1st and 2nd motor-driven expansion valves 5 and 6 corresponding to a signal from the detecting means 14.
