PURPOSE: To detect precisely even the slight inclusion of ice, and to carry out normal ice making by a method wherein an ice-inclusion switch consists of a magnet adapted to the end part of a water tray and a reed switch arranged opposingly to the magnet or of a photoelectric switch which emits light toward the end part of the water tray and is actuated by receiving the reflected light therefrom.
CONSTITUTION: A magnet 13 is mounted to the end part of a water tray 5, and a reed switch 14 which is actuated by magnetic force when the magnet 13 approaches the reed switch 14, is arranged opposingly to the magnet 13, so that this constitution makes it possible to detect the returning movement of the water tray 5 to the point of a predetermined position. Accordingly, a detection portion becomes larger from the point of support of the slantingly returning movement of the water tray 5, and the displacement of the water tray 5 caused by the slight inclusion of ice is also detected precisely. As a substitute for the magnet and reed switch, a photoelectric switch 27 which emits light toward the end part of the water try 5 and is actuated by receiving the reflected light therefrom, can also be provided so as to detect the ice inclusion. If the water tray 5 is slantingly moved even in a slight degree due to the ice inclusion, the reflected light is deviated, and non-returning movement of the water tray can be quickly and reliably detected.
