To provide an ice protection system for an aerodynamic surface of an aircraft.SOLUTION: An aerodynamic surface of an aircraft has a flow facing side 120 and an inwardly facing side 130 that opposes the flow facing side. An ice protection system 140 has: a perforated sheet 170 configured to be disposed in the surface; a heating source connected to the perforated sheet; and a suction source 160 disposed to draw up ice 135 melted by the heating source through the perforated sheet and heating source.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
