Title:
ICE THERMAL STORAGE AND ICE WATER TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3469129
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To take out ice water at a high ice density by preventing the ice water in a storage tank from turning into ice blocks by positioning the agitating blades of an agitator in the upper part of an ice water chamber while the blades are dipped in the ice water and providing an ice water taking-out nozzle on the outside of the agitating blades.
SOLUTION: A storage tank 1 is divided in to a lower ice water chamber 21 and an upper expansion tank 6 by an internal partition plate 5. The agitating blades 3a of an agitator 3 are dipped in ice water in the upper part of the chamber 21 and the clearance between the outer peripheral ends of the blades 3a and the inner peripheral surface of the tank 1 is minimized by adjusting the ratio (D1/D2) between the diameter D1 of the outer peripheries of the blades 3a and the inside diameter D2 of the tank 1 to ≥0.96 (D1/D2≥0.96). The reason why the clearance is minimized is that the wavy area caused by the motions of the blades 3a reaches the wing span above and below the blades 3a in a state where ice is stored. Therefore, the ice immediately below the partition plate 5 is most apt to be compacted by the buoyancy of all ice pieces in the tank 1, but, since the ice pieces are fluidized by the agitating blades 3a, they can be prevented from being compacted into ice blocks.
