Title:
IDENTIFICATION OF COMPOUND REGULATING ACTIVITY OF TRANSCRIPTION FACTOR, NF-IL6/LAP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3162683
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify a compound which regulates or activates the gene expression activity of the subject transcription factor by affecting the phosphorylation state of a specific amino acid residue in nuclear factor-interleukin 6/lymphokine activation protein.
SOLUTION: This is a method for identifying a compound which regulates the activity of nuclear factor-interleukin 6/lymphokine activation protein (NF- IL6/LAP) by affecting the phosphorylation state of an amino acid residue 105 in the NF-IL6/LAP. In view of the fact that the component containing this compound and NF-IL6/LAP is incubated under the sufficient condition for mutually reacting them and, as a result, the action of this compound on the phosphorylation state of NF-IL6/LAP is shown by the difference in the phosphorylation state of the amino acid residue 105, i.e., the compound regulating the activity of NF-IL6/LAP is identified by comparing the phosphorylation state of this residue before and after the incubation.
